Guilds - which to join
Hi there,
I haven't chosen a guild yet because I didn't want to invite the first that asked me. I've got three invitations currently, but I haven't actually heard of any of them. I was wondering if anyone here had heard of them, what you know about them, etc: Chain of Strength Pure Snow Sanctuary in Devasation I suppose some of my reluctance was because the people that offered the invites didn't talk to me. So what can you guys recommend? Should I choose one of them, wait for someone who talks to me, etc? Cheers |

hmm, I wouldn't really join a guild that just hands out random guild invitations..
but maybe thats the reason why I'm level 20, have beaten the game and still don't belong to a guild. |

I wouldn't join a Guild that hands out random invitations to people. It reminds me of those fools in town centres who bother you with leaflets and charity crap, handing out stuff.
... Yes.. I'd suggest looking around in towns and seeing if any Guilds are recruiting. Check if they have a website and look them up. [Start Shameless recruiting message] You could always join the guild i am in: The Weave [NoM]. http://www.weaveguild.net - A GW Guild Community. [End Shameless recruiting message] |

IMO a guild should be made of some of your best friends, just play with some people and get to know 'em before you join their guild is my advice.

It???s not only about joining a guild.
(I would never join a guild just because I get an invite and whisper) You have to ask yourself what you want from a Guild. Here are some ideas (from our own activities): - You want a GvG Guild - You want a PvP Guild - You want a pure PvE / Fun Guild - You want a Guild with a Forum/Homepage - You want a Guild where you can get free items, because the Guild is rich. - You want a Guild with many active and online members, who will help you. - You want a Guild because you want to be officer (I do not like those who join, and the 1st question is: can I be officer???how silly can a person be) - You want a Guild with experienced Player / Level 20 / Finished game etc - You want a Guild with some extra fun, making movies, partys etc - You want a real roleplaying guild / Stay in character and there are more ???so ask before you join, what a guild can offer, and tell the guild what you can offer in return. I am a Guildmistress and have to look on this a bit different: It???s also for a guild the question what qualities a recruit should have. I would not allow players into my guild, if I have not experienced them in a mission or quest. Some guilds have their own pride. So a new member should be worthy to join (that has nothing to do with the level, but with a mature playingstyle + the will to be active in the guild, guildforum, guild-movie-making and with helping other members.) I do not see any glory in those guilds that just stand in a city and shout: Who wants to join us....how odd. So its not only about joining a guild, it???s also about deserving to be a member of a really special guild, who???s members are devoted to the guild. |

I sense elitism here which appeals to me very much.

I'd ask for you to join, but it's against the forum rules. At least I think so anyway. So if you're interested, Guild name is under my avatar, so is my IGN.
